Milepost 0: Saying Farewell

On Friday, August 2, we had a farewell dinner for Uncle Vic. It was attended by the whole family, Susan’s Mother-in-law (A very sweet lady, who holds a special place in her heart for all of us), and his best friend.

For dinner, there was fruit salad, pasta salad, hamburgers, and hot dogs. Susan made a blueberry pie and a butterscotch pie for dessert! His very favorite. After dinner, we played a dice game and chatted. A good time was had by all

We haven’t left yet, but, we’re packed and ready to go….

Tonight, we’re picking up Aunt Helen and Aunt Alice from the Ontario Airport and taking them to Anaheim and Uncle Vic. They should be really, really pooped! They’re getting in at 10 p.m. California time, which will be 1 a.m. Florida time… And Aunt Alice is coming “straight from work!”

Milepost 0: Gearing Up!

Repairs and maintenance on the motorhome have been done!
The excitement has been mounting….
Anne has cleared out the old junk and started packing new junk in anticipation of the trip. Menus have been planned, and a new cookbook with all our favorites has been “published.” Our clothes are getting packed. The digital film has been readied, so too many pictures can now be taken!
Our expected departure date is Sunday, August 4. We will be leaving Chino Hills/Anaheim the same time that Uncle Vic leaves with Aunt Helen and Aunt Alice for his new home in Florida. They will be driving his van, and whether or not we will accompany them is yet to be determined, as are our route and stops.
We would like to visit cousins Gary and Diane and Willie in the Las Vegas area on the way out, but, again, it all depends on our Aunties’ plans. Thanks, guys, for the invite! We’ll let you know as soon as we know!
